Thank goodness blogs exist! I found a really good new one in this process, she's the one that taught me all about deers and processing them, I also got the pastrami recipe from her blog, though I had to tweek it a bit to make it fit my diet. Her blog is called The Girls Guide to Guns and Butter. Haha it's pretty fitting to my new journey I'm on of finding myself in the forests of Arkansas aka my parents/g-ma's house. Lol. My inspiration for the jerky came from Against All Grain. That lady is very talented and has great ideas I always end up on her site, usually by accident, so she must be doing some thing right. Any ways here is a pic of the jerky it should be done in about 3 Hrs! Wish me luck!

Hunting Seasoning
My dad killed a deer this weekend and I got the glamorous job of processing it. For those of you who don't know what that means, I cut off all the fat and gross stuff and seperated it into roasts and steaks and some of it's getting ground for hamburger and sausage. With one of the roasts I'm making pastrami, at the moment it's sitting in a brine and it'll be there for the next 4 days soaking up the juices and then I'm going to smoke it! YUM! I can't wait! Also at this moment I'm dehydrating some jerky. This is my first time for doing all of these things so we'll see soon how good I am at doing things semi blindly. Haha.
